Govt launches app for eaccess to over 150 services
NEW DELHI: Citizens can now access more than 150 central and state services from a mobile application called UMANG.
UMANG, short for Unified Mobile Application for New-Age Governance, can be downloaded from both Android and Apple app stores. It has been developed by the ministry of electronics and information technology and the National e-Governance Division.

the app integrates services from several government departments. some of the services on it include locating CBsE
exam centres and getting results, looking up NCErt syllabus, searching
for AICtE-apprived institutions and courses, viewing soil health cards,
applying for crop insurance and booking appointments for several
hospitals or viewing test reports. In all, 162 services from four state
governments and central ministries can be accessed.
It was formally launched by PM Narendra Modi on thursday before he inaugurated the fifth edition of Global Conference on Cyber space here. A senior information technology ministry official said the app was in developmental stage for past 11 months. two months ago the ministry made it available for downloading in a ‘soft’ launch.
