Vigyan Prasar (VP) is an autonomous organization under the Department of Science and Technology (DST),
Government of India.

The principal objective of VP is to serve India’s science popularization agenda. This is achieved through several strategically important two – way stakeholder specific approaches to communicate about principles and practice of science and technology and implications for development and quality of life. Science popularization, therefore serves as a robust knowledge led tool to fulfill three mutually reinforcing public policy objectives…..

Virtual Science Portal for students

Science Education is an important tool for the development of a nation. The alarmingly decreasing number of students opting diverse science streams as a career and the lack of right guidance to the young generation has prompted VIBHA (Vijnana Bharati) and NCSTC to take an initiative for a Virtual Science Portal for the Indian Students.

This web portal is a novel initiative for the students, particularly from class 6 th to 12 th to have basic understanding of diverse avenues of science and its latest trends in technological applications.

NOTE: It is mandatory for students to provide a valid email id and mobile number to sign-up in the Science India Web Portal. Click Here for More information.

  • Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)

     https://doaj.org/

This Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) covers free, full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals in all subjects and languages. There are now 5828 journals are available in the directory. Currently 2431 journals are searchable at article level. As of today 483307 articles are included in the DOAJ service. 20% of peer-reviewed articles across all disciplines are now freely available. The journal must exercise peer-review or editorial quality control to be included.
The aim of the Directory of Open Access Journals is to increase the visibility and ease of use of open access scientific and scholarly journals thereby promoting their increased usage and impact. The Directory aims to be comprehensive and cover all open access scientific and scholarly journals that use a quality control system to guarantee the content. In short a one stop shop for users to Open Access Journals.
From the BOAI definition [1] of "open access" the users have a right to "read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles" as mandatory for a journal to be included in the directory.
