Art, physical education classes may get longer

After requests from
teachers' groups, education minister Vinod Tawde said that the
government will consider making art and physical education classes
longer.
Tawde said the state will consider extending the duration to 1
hour instead of the current 35 minutes. “During a physical education
period, students take time to go to the ground and begin playing. They
also need to get back to class before the next teacher is in. They
hardly get time to play and unwind,“ said Uday Nare, teacher, Hansraj
Morarji Public School, Andheri.
