"To give a fair deal to the comments on the question papers and redress the genuine grievances of students, CBSE has developed an Observation Schedule. In case you have your observations/feedbacks, these may please be recorded and forwarded as per directions contained therein within twenty-four hours of the conduct of the examination of the subject concerned so that these observations, could be considered by the Expert Group while preparing the Marking Scheme," said a CBSE circular.
One can send feedback on questions if they are out of syllabus or beyond the comprehension level of candidate, faulty translation, defective formation of question or any other issue.
The CBSE, however, requested to act responsibly and to see that the observations and comments are not made to gain cheap popularity and help in strengthening the system. "We should also keep in mind that during examinations, examinees are under heavy stress and anxiety and our adverse views on the question papers through different media, often upset them in their preparations of future examinations. It would, therefore, be advisable that schools should send their reactions and perceptions direct to the Board only," the circular added.
Students welcomed the initiative and said it will help in raise the issues and problems in question papers directly with the board.
"Earlier there was no direct way of informing the board about any problem or mistake with the question paper. Through this method, one can directly reach the board and I am hopeful that they will look into the matter during evaluation and students will not suffer due to no fault of their," said Snigdha Rani Patra, a class XII student.
Giving emphasis to the careful marking of scripts and timely declaration of results, the board asked schools to send their teachers for evaluation work. If teachers selected for evaluation work will not attend the process then the respective schools may be disaffiliated.
