'17 med admissions to be based on NEET only

Even as several parents are
worried about last-minute changes in the weightage given to NEET for
undergraduate medical admissions, the Directorate of Medical Education
and Research has made the assurance that it would be completely based on
NEET scores. “According to the notification released by the CBSE and
Medical Council of India's regulation, admissions will be completely
based on NEET scores for 2017 admissions,“ said director Pravin
Shingare.
The Supreme Court last week said it would not be correct to decide the fate of students through a single entrance examination. “This, however, will not be applicable for the 2017 admissions as the notifications are out,“ Shingare said.
